I grew up feeling different in ways I could not explain;

While other people seemed to dance through life without the strain.

I learned to read the crowded room and study every face;

While quietly reminding myself that I still deserved a place.

Some days my thoughts moved quickly like a storm across the sky;

And some days even simple words felt difficult to try.

But deep inside my heart, I always carried something strong;

A dream to lead with courage and to prove that I belong.

I know that being autistic may shape the way I see;

But it has never placed a chain upon the goals inside of me.

It taught me how to listen close and notice what is missed;

To focus with determination and persist through every twist.

I want to lead with wisdom and with empathy and grace;

To help encourage others who feel frightened or displaced.

I want my voice to matter when important things are said;

And show that different minds can still move powerful paths ahead.

There were moments filled with silence when my confidence felt small;

And times I feared my differences would build a heavy wall.

Yet every challenge strengthened me and helped me understand;

That leaders are not only those who perfectly fit a plan.

A leader can be thoughtful and a little unconventional too;

A person shaped by hardship with a unique and honest view.

And though my road may look unlike the paths that others climb;

I still believe with all my heart my future is mine to define.

So I will keep on rising when the journey becomes steep;

And hold onto the promises and dreams I choose to keep.

Because my autism is part of me, but not my final story;

I will lead with purpose, compassion, and strength, as I attain my glory.
